This area was truly magical. Waking up each morning practicing yoga on the hillside, Mike's paragliding adventure over the Aegean Sea, and watching the girls rock back and forth on the turbulent boat ride to different bays were some of the imprints from the trip. The Olive Garden, where we stayed and ate two meals a day, made for a wonderful experience. We slept in quaint cabins and ate locally grown and prepared food from the chef. This area is along the Lycian Way, a popular trail for European backpackers. We also befriended an Italian family and hung out with them and their two kids for a couple of days and met travelers from China and other parts of Europe. Only mishap was our final day and the Turkish Hammam experience the girls and I had- but, another story to tell.
We returned rejuvenated and ready for the remaining 5 weeks of school. Aleah and Sierra both have class trips coming up- Sierra is off to Pumakkale and Ephesus for four days, and Aleah is headed to Space Camp for four days in southern Turkey. First trip without the family. :-(
A bit anxious, but excited for them as well.
Also, I start a new job on Monday. I'll be the Director of Public Relations for the school. Ending my interim position filling in as an ESL teacher, now I'll have a chance to support communications for the school K-12 and be a liaison for families and staff. Looking forward to the next adventure!
Alright, friends and loved ones. Ciao for now. Hope you enjoy the pics, especially of Mike from 1,500 feet above sea level.
