There's nothing quite like watching the sunrise and a full moon setting in the distance from a hot air balloon. Needless to say, I was a bag of nerves before the whole experience with my latent fear of heights. Once in the air, it's the most peaceful experience, especially when looking out at the vast open land of Cappadocia. We had an aerial view of the caves and fairy chimneys as well as the various valleys- Rose, Pigeon, etc. With our fearless British balloon guide, Mike (who happened to pioneer the balloon industry in Cappadocia by being the first to open a business 10 years ago), we were definitely in safe hands. We dipped into canyons, flew with the birds, and joined about 25 other balloons in the air. At the end of the ride we celebrated with champagne and a surprise cake for Aleah. It was really a birthday present for all of us! Enjoy the pics...
